VACAVILLE—

A large drug bust in spearheaded by Vacaville Police has netted ten men and about $1 million worth in marijuana, police announced Monday.

According to a media release from the Vacaville Police Department, officers with the Vacaville Police Department’s Narcotics Team – along with the help of the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Fish and Wildlife – served three warrants between Oct. 10 and 11.

The warrants focused on undisclosed sites in Vacaville, Fairfield and Shasta County.

Detectives had been interested in finding the source of illegal marijuana that had been flooding the City of Vacaville recently. The investigation eventually led detectives to the three sites.

In total, police say, about 247 marijuana plants were found at Shasta County site – along with 200 pounds of dried marijuana. Police believe that the marijuana seized has a street value of about $1 million.

The men, who range in age from 18 to 56 years old, were arrested in Shasta County. Police say that the suspects were caught red handed, actively processing the marijuana when officers rolled up.

Vacaville detectives are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Vacaville Police DRUG tip line at (707) 449-5243.
