Craig Roberts, who starred in Richard Ayoade‘s 2010 coming-of-age film Submarine, has joined 22 Jump Street in a supporting role.
Sony’s comedy sequel sees the return of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as cops who go undercover, this time pretending to be college students. Roberts will play a character named Spencer.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are back in the directors’ chairs for the project, which is currently shooting. Ice Cube also is reprising his role, and Wyatt Russell, son of Kurt Russell, will appear in a supporting role.
21 Jump Street was a breakout hit for Sony when it opened in theaters in March 2012. It has earned more than $138 million domestically and $202 million worldwide.
The sequel is slated to hit theaters on June 13, 2014.
Roberts recently wrapped up shooting another comedy project, Townies, opposite Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne. His recent work includes reteaming with Ayoade for The Double, starring Jesse Eisenberg, and appearing in Jonathan Kasdan‘s The First Time. He’s repped by WME, The Curtis Brown Group in the U.K. and Untitled Entertainment.
