The Robertsons, the Louisiana family whose stranglehold on the duck call business earned it a popular A&E reality show called Duck Dynasty, is focusing its sights on a new entertainment medium this holiday season: music.
Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas, the first album from the Robertson family, will see an Oct. 29 release on Universal’s Nashville label. It features 14 tracks, most of which are Christmas standards, while other tunes are penned by various castmembers of the TV show. “Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas,” penned by Willie Robertson and country songwriter Dallas Davidson (Lady Antebellum’s “Just a Kiss,” Luke Bryan‘s “That’s My Kind of Night”), is the first single from the album.

“Ragin’ Cajun Redneck Christmas” features lead vocals from Willie Robertson, while Phil, Missy, Uncle Si and others also take turns at the microphone.
The Duck Dynasty stars gathered some star talent within the country world for “Duck the Halls.” George Strait features on the song “Christmas Cookies,” while “Away in a Manger” gets an assist from Alison Krauss. Meanwhile, it’s Luke Bryan, who has topped the Billboard 200 twice in 2013, who steps up to the mic on “Hairy Christmas.”
Buddy Cannon, producer of many Kenny Chesney records, oversaw the project.
The Robertsons’ Christmas album will go up against holiday releases from Kelly Clarkson and fellow country artist Trace Adkins next week.
