Marvin Paige, the casting director on such films as Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the early Woody Allen comedies Take the Money and Run and Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, has died.
Paige died Wednesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles of injuries sustained in a car crash on Laurel Canyon a month ago, publicist Edward Lozzi said. He was believed to be in his late 80s.
For years, Paige also did the casting for the daytime soap opera General Hospital, for which he received two Artios Award nominations from the Casting Society of America. Among the many actors he picked for the show were Anne Jeffreys, Demi Moore, Tia Carrere and Rick Springfield.

Paige’s first work as a casting director was on Blake Edwards’ Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961). His credits also include two films starring William Holden, The Devil’s Brigade (1968) and The Revengers (1972); The Honkers (1972), with James Coburn; and the ’70s social-commentary classic The Mack (1973).
Paige also worked on such TV series as Mickey, Combat!, Garrison’s Gorillas, Lassie, Planet of the Apes and Charlie’s Angels.
Paige was the founder, curator and owner of the Motion Picture & Television Research Archive, home to a wealth of footage, photos and memorabilia.
“Marvin also was the go-to guy for wrangling iconic celebrities to be involved with major events like the Academy Awards, Oscar parties, the TCM Classic Film Festival. He’s who you called,” Lozzi said.
The publicist noted that Paige was working on the Los Angeles Police Protective League’s Nov. 16 Eagle & Badge Gala that will honor, among others, SAG-AFTRA president Ken Howard.
Lozzi said Paige also was casting a film with the working title A Rose in Winter before his accident.
