Adam Martinez, executive director of finance and operations at Fox Searchlight, married Niki Tehranchi, owner and chef at Eatz cooking school, Oct. 18 at Viceroy Palm Springs in front of 125 guests. The couple, who became engaged on Tehranchi’s birthday in November 2012, will honeymoon in Tahiti. Said the bride, “We were excited to dance, drink and be with all our friends and family, plus we jumped in the Viceroy’s hotel pool at midnight.”

Marcia Wallace, the quick-witted receptionist on The Bob Newhart Show who went on to voice Edna Krabappel on ?The Simpsons, died Oct. 25 at age 70 in L.A. of complications from pneumonia. Simpsons executive producer Al Jean said her character would be retired.
Antonia Bird, the British director who made her feature debut with 1994’s Priest, died Oct. 24 of anaplastic thyroid cancer. She was 62.
Mary Carver, who played the mother of the private-detective brothers on the 1980s CBS series Simon & Simon,? died Oct. 18 after a brief illness. ?She was 89.
Hal Needham, a stuntman ?who awed Hollywood for years before directing his pal Burt Reynolds in such films as Smokey and the Bandit and The Cannonball Run, died Oct. 25? in L.A. of cancer. He was 82.
