A thief suspected of targeting landscaping companies throughout Yolo County has been arrested in Sacramento County, Davis Police have announced.
The thefts happened between Aug. 27 and Oct. 15. A total of nine reports were taken by Davis Police about the theft of landscaping equipment. More, similar thefts were reported to UC Davis and Woodland police.
Detectives were able to identify a suspect in the cases – 18-year-old Sacramento resident Omar Zavala.
Thursday, multiple search warrants went out in Sacramento County, eventually leading to the arrest of Zavala.
Zavala was booked at the Yolo County Jail on grand theft charges. Davis Police note that more charges against Zavala are being considered.
