AUBURN-
Police in Auburn are warning of a scam aimed at taking advantage of the elderly.
Investigators say the scammer will call an elderly resident and say a relative of theirs is in jail for driving under the influence, and that they must pay $6,000 cash.
Police say the potential victim will be asked to mail the cash out of state.
The best thing to do, according to police, is to hang up and report the suspicious call to authorities.
