DUBAI – U.S. financing and production company Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films (EFO Films) will open its first office in the Middle East in Dubai.
The production banner that bankrolled and produced Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor, which stars Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster and Eric Bana, has committed to two productions in the region within the next 18 months.
The movie and office pledge was announced by Mary Mulcahy, regional marketing director of Middle East EFO Films, during the Dubai International Film Festival.
Most recently Emmett/Furla Films partnered up with Oasis Ventures Entertainment to form Emmett/ Furla/Oasis Films.
Oasis Ventures Entertainment is part of the Oasis Ventures group of companies, with offices in Dubai, New York, Los Angeles and the Cayman Islands.
Said EFO Films co-CEO Randall Emmett: “It’s an honor for us to be able to have a footprint in this region, as it is rich with new film opportunities for us filmmakers. We look forward to working with local partners and being a part of the Dubai community.”
Universal is releasing Lone Survivor on Dec. 27.
The banner is currently in production on action thriller The Prince, starring Bruce Willis, Jason Patric, John Cusack and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
EFO Films include End of Watch, Broken City, The Frozen Ground, Escape Plan and 2 Guns .
