The original I9100 Galaxy S II started getting its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in March, but its TI OMAP-based I9100G cousin wasn't that lucky.
Until recently that is, as we started getting user reports that the I9100G ICS update is already seeding in several countries. It seems the rollout is only enjoying limited availability for now, but hopefully it will go global in the next days or weeks.
It's good to know that Samsung hasn't forgotten all about the less popular versions of the Galaxy S II and is delivering their due ICS servings.
If you are not sure what are the differences between the two Galaxy S II versions, you should check out our comparison article.
