American Idol gave Fox a solid win Wednesday night, topping all other broadcasts and networks among viewers (16.4 million) and adults 18-49 (4.9 rating). The latter score is two-tenths of a point higher than last week’s fast national ratings, poising it for growth.
On CBS, Survivor dropped to a 2.6 rating with adults 18-49, while Criminal Minds remained steady with a 3.0. CSI topped the 10 p.m. hour, though it dropped 21 percent to a 2.3. CBS averaged a 2.6 rating with adults 18-49 and 10.4 million viewers.

ABC revived its Wednesday comedy block from weeks of encores for the launch of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23. The series posted a solid 2.9 rating among adults 18-49. That’s on par with spring episodes of previous time slot resident Happy Endings but shy of Happy Endings‘ season highs (3.5) from the fall. Modern Family offered Apt 23 a softer lead-in, down 9 percent to a 4.1 in the demo. The Middle and Suburgatory were even with their previous originals, posting a 2.1 with 18-49-ers. At 10 p.m., the network aired a Revenge recap, giving ABC an average 2.4 rating in the demo and 6.9 million viewers for the night.
NBC saw drops with the second official outings of Betty White: Off Their Rockers and Best Friends Forever. The two comedies posted a 1.6 and 0.9 rating among adults 18-49, respectively. Returning to its previous time slot, Rock Center With Brian Williams fell 25 percent to a 0.6 in the demo. Law & Order: SVU returned to 1.6 rating, giving the network a 1.1 demo showing for the night and 4.2 million viewers.
The CW aired two hours of America’s Next Top Model for a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49.
