A new year’s executive shuffle at German media group Constantin Film will see Martin Moszkowicz take over as chairman of the company’s executive board, effective immediately. Moszkowicz will continue to head up film and TV production at Munich-based Constantin and will oversee the group’s TV entertainment, sales and acquisitions, marketing and press, corporate communications and legal departments.
Moszkowicz, whose executive production credits for Constantin include The Resident Evil franchise, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and countless German features and TV movies, has signed a new contract with Constantin which runs through December 31, 2018.
Outgoing executive board chairman Bernhard Burgener, who has held the post since 2009, will move over to the job of chairman of Constantin’s supervisory board. He replaces Fred Kogel, who will step down but remain connected to Constantin as an advisor on television product and licensing.
Constantin is coming off a strong year in Germany thanks in large part to local comedy hit Fack Ju Gohte, which has earned more than $60 million at the German box office. The company’s upcoming slate includes the animated feature Tarzan 3D and historic adventure drama Pompeii from Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson.
