New projects from art house favorites including Peter Webber, Naomi Kawase, Alessandro Comodin and Eran Kolirin are among the 25 in-development films picked for next year’s CineMart, the Rotterdam film festival’s co-production market.
Webber’s Fresh, An – Sweet Red Bean Paste by Kawase, Comodin’s Happy Time Will Come Soon and Let There Be Morning by Kolirin will all be looking for financing partners at the Dutch event, which runs from Jan. 26-29, 2014.
The full selection of 2014 CineMart titles is available online at Filmfestivalrotterdam.com.
Commenting on this year’s selection, CineMart’s organizers Bianca Taal and Nienke Poelsma said they were proud to present “A lean and sharp selection of twenty-five projects all ready to be launched internationally…A collection of films that we believe will find prominent places at film festivals as well as in the international distribution circuit once realized.”
The CineMart projects are eligible for two prizes handed out at the market’s award ceremony on Jan. 29: the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award, which comes with a $41,000 (€30,000) cash bursary for the best European co-production and the ARTE France Cinema Award, which includes a $6,800 (€5,000) cash prize.
