Each of their stories are different, but their cause is the same; raise awareness for organ donations.

A group of 15 organ recipients and family members of those who donated boarded a bus Friday morning and headed to Pasadena to decorate the “Donate for Life” float that will be a part of the Rose Bowl Parade on New Years Day.

Among those making the trip is Robyn McBurney, whose husband died as a result of an accident, but was a donor saving lives in the process.

A year prior, McBurney and her husband Kevin made the trip to the Rose Bowl Parade as a couple, she admits this go around will be bittersweet.

“I will cry and it will be challenging, on the other hand I will be amongst people who care so much about doing this that it will be extremely uplifting” McBurney said.

The group will spend all day Saturday decorating the float and will take shifts with similar groups from around the country.
