SAN RAMON-

As PG&E customers use gas for warmth during the valley’s harsh cold snap, the utility company says it’s seen record-breaking gas consumption.

With a new, state of the art facility in San Ramon, PG&E says that record-breaking amount of gas is being delivered safer than ever. Complete with a 90-foot monitor, the staff at the station monitor and manage gas delivery and track potential problems.

After a 2010 natural gas explosion in San Bruno that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes, PG&E has made changes to its safety culture – the new, $38 million facility being one of them.
