ABC is looking to add another female heroine to its ranks.
The home to Scandal, Revenge and Once Upon a Time has picked up drama pilot Clementine, from Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life writer Dean Georgaris, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
From ABC Studios-based Mark Gordon Co. (Grey’s Anatomy, Ray Donovan), the drama centers on a habitual criminal who digs into the mystery of her origins after she becomes the target of a group of zealots who fear she possesses latent supernatural abilities that she will one day harness for either profound good or monstrous evil.

Feature writer Georgaris (Paycheck) will pen the script and executive produce alongside Mark Gordon, Nicholas Pepper and Ilene Staple.
Clementine was one of multiple broadcast sales Gordon had this development season and, should the drama go to series, would likely join the 11th season of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (which has yet to be renewed), the second season of Showtime’s Ray Donovan and CBS’ Criminal Minds.
For ABC, this marks the Disney-owned network’s fifth drama in the works for next season, which includes series Secrets & Lies, Sea of Fire, How to Get Away With Murder and American Crime, from 12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley.
