Avengers fans who had been asking for a movie that spotlights the Black Widow and — unlike the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier — actually features her name in the title can take some solace in the newly-announced Marvel animated movie, Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher.
Teaming the SHIELD agent (voiced by Dexter‘s Jennifer Carpenter) with the urban vigilante Frank Castle — AKA the Punisher (as voiced by Brian Bloom) — to stop a terrorist organization known only as “Leviathan,” the animated movie also features appearances from the rest of the cinematic Avengers alongside the comic book Captain Marvel.

Created in partnership with Sony Pictures Japan and anime studio Madhouse, Avengers Confidential was adapted by Mitsutaka Hirota from a story by Marjorie Liu, who had previously written a Black Widow comic book series for Marvel. The movie is directed by Kenichi Shimizu.
Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download on March 25.
