Consumers using Retire Logix on their mobile phones now will be able to search for financial planners with a simple click.

The Financial Planning Association has agreed to allow Retire Logix, a retirement planning application that consumers use on mobile devices, to connect to FPA's PlannerSearch service.

The FPA and Financial Logix, which makes the software, announced the agreement. This is believed to be the first time the association has allowed software from a financial planning vendor to be linked to PlannerSearch. A number of competing vendors, who prefer to remain anonymous, questioned why FPA chose to partner with Finance Logix without alerting them to the opportunity in advance of this announcement.

Retire Logix uses innovative sliders and charts to forecast an individual's retirement situation with intuitive touch-screen graphics.  With more than 20,000 unique downloads, Retire Logix is one of the leading mobile retirement planning applications for consumers. It has been recognized by Money, The Street, Horse's Mouth and More magazines as one of the best mobile apps.

Retire Logix users will now be able to touch a button to be connected with FPA's PlannerSearch, a database of over 6,000 of FPA's member financial planners who hold the CFP designation.  Consumers enter their location and key search criteria to identify FPA members in their area.
