OAKLAND (CNN)-
The restraining to keep 13-year-old Jahi McMath connected to life support was extended until Jan. 7, a court ruled Monday.
Attorneys for the family filed a new complaint in federal court requesting a temporary restraining order and an injunction to prevent the hospital from disconnecting her from life support, the girl’s uncle, Omari Sealey, told reporters.
Up until the extension, the deadline was 5 p.m. Monday evening.
They are also filing an appeal with California appellate courts.
“We are hopeful that one of these actions will forestall the hospital’s rush to extinguish Jahi’s chance at life,” Sealey said.
