LONDON — Odin’s Eye Entertainment has struck theatrical distribution deals for the U.K. and Canada for survival drama Canopy.
Kaleidoscope Entertainment has acquired U.K. rights to the movie that debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival. Kinosmith secured the rights for Canada.
Set in Singapore in 1942, Canopy tells the story of an Australian fighter pilot (Khan Chittenden) who is shot down in combat by the Japanese. He flees through the jungle and encounters a Chinese resistance fighter (Mo Tzu-Yi), leaving the men struggling
to survive and communicate.

Aaron Wilson is the writer and director of the film, which is produced by Finer Films and Chuan Pictures as an Australia/Singaporean co-production.
Odin’s Eye will release the film theatrically in Australia during the second quarter. Monterey Media recently acquired the film for the U.S.
Said Spencer Pollard, founder of Kaleidoscope: “Canopy is a film that we have been tracking since its excellent reviews in Toronto. We believe it is a smart film that we can build a strong audience with in the U.K. later this year.”
