MODESTO-

Modesto Police arrested a man suspected of robbing his neighbor Wednesday.

The robbery was first reported shortly after 11 a.m., police say. A man said his neighbor, Sean Collins, came up to him and his son and showed a gun as they were trying to get out of their car along Elm Avenue.

Investigators say Collins began going through the car before finding cash and leaving.

Collins then walked into his home and locked himself inside, police say.

Officers say that after a few P.A. announcements, Collins surrendered without incident.

Inside Collins’ home, police say they found the stolen money, body armor, 10 guns and thousands of prescription pills.

Collins was booked into jail on charges of robbery, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of stolen property, possession of an assault weapon, brandishing a firearm and animal cruelty.
