October 19, 2009 | Women's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind - The Ball State University women's basketball team held a celebration of the 2008-09 basketball season before the Ball State vs. Bowling Green football game at Scheumann Stadium. At that time Ball State University President Dr. JoAnn M. Gora, along with athletics director Tom Collins, presented the team with its Mid-American Conference Championship rings.
Former Cardinals Kiley Jarrett and Dana Moorman returned to their alma mater for the ring ceremony. Porchia Green was not in attendance due to the fact she is playing basketball overseas.
The Cardinals posted their best ever overall and home records, 26-9 and 14-1, respectively in 2008-09. Ball State also had its best MAC showing, turning in a 14-2 ledger. BSU won its first ever MAC Tournament Championship and had its first NCAA Tournament berth, where the Cardinals defeated national power Tennessee in the first round.
Ball State travels to Big Ten foe Michigan for its 2009-10 season opener Friday, Nov. 13 with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
