Hello!

As some of you may already know, the official ICS update has hit the 2012 Arc successor, Xperia S.

I used Bin4ry's ftf file, from which I took the system.sin and extracted it.

I uploaded the /system/app folder for all of you curious to see which apps will work on our Arc/S and for developers and themers in general.

DOWNLOAD

Feel free to mirror the file and post the link here, I will add it in the OP.
However, please do not ask me for mirrors, it took me well over an hour to generate this one.

Cheers!

no, there still music player, but it can not work on arc/arc-s like doom's file
edit: confirm a bug with new app: when chosing another theme color, the new apps still have the color before you flash/copy apps to your phone. lol, Sony always make people working hard to port apps from this phone to other phone.
Weather widget still no working, walkman the same.

If you wouldn't mind could you upload libs & framework too? Yeah you mentioned uploading framework folder but I need libs also :D

Or if you wouldn't mind could you tell me how you extracted the system.sin without having a device? I would gladly be providing a full system dump if you could teach me how to dump from system.sin. I already tried aIUP, unyaffs and sin2img to no avail.

you can dump the data with flashtool, but i never tried it with Xperia S firmware.

Xperia S uses ext4 filesystem, not yaffs2.
I used Ubuntu to mount the ext4 system img and it worked! :)
Maybe there is a way to do it in Windows too, I just don't know it.
I'll see what I can do with the framework folder.
