WHY WILMINGTON / LOS ANGELES HARBOR

Although the Harbor does not necessarily have sandy area in which to gather, its massive refineries and oil infrastructure overlooks the ocean. The Port of Los Angeles, one of the most fossil-fuel polluted communities in the country, is now undergoing fresh threats from tar sands shipping and refining, as well as a regional uptick in hydraulic fracturing (Fracked Natural Gas). What better place to stand together in solidarity with the local impacted communities. We will gather on a nearby bridge so that we can look beyond the oil infrastructure and out onto the beautiful Ocean.

Supporting Organizations: Communities for a Better Environment, Tar Sands Action SoCal, Wilder Utopia, Miss R-EVOLutionaries, Sierra Club, CA Nurses Association, National Nurses United, and Burbank Green Alliance. All groups are partners of SoCal Climate Action Coalition 350.org.
