    Good time!

    by Nann3rs on 8/1/17Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

The event overall was great but I think they should close it out differently. Both nights they just cut the music and security was telling everyone to leave, I think they should have the MC close it out. It just seems to end awkwardly.

the line up of artists should've been better. I am 26 yrs old and I got my drink taken away from security and got asked for identification In front of everyone which was so embarrassing because they straight walked up to me and rudely took my drink away...

I attended MaJah RayJah on Saturday the 30th of July. The headliner Matisyahu was a total let down. All the other bands leading up to him had set the stage for a lively crowd but Matisyahu completely ruined that lively mood. Thanks to all the other bands, excluding Matisyahu, I would recommend MayJah RayJah. However, I hope Matisyahu is never asked to be a headliner again for this event, for I would never pay $65 to see him again!

What's with the ticket price this year?

by Nickybos on 8/2/16Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

I have been to mayjah rayjah in years past and I really don't recall the tickets being so expensive, to the point where I had to pick a day to go instead of getting the 2-day pass like I isually do. But I figured it was going to be awesome since this was my first show on Oahu, I am used to mayjah rayjah on Maui. I would have to say I was very unimpressed with the show, the artists were great but the time between artists was long. For only having 4 performers we spent almost 6 hours there. I would have been ok with the price if the show was worth $75 and sitting in the grass. Pretty disappointed and not planning on going next year.... Unless the green and sons of Zion are on the same day, but even then, I saw the Green at Kakaako for $25 a few months ago.

    Mayjah Rayjah 2016

by xrunnah on 8/2/16Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

As always Mayjay Rayjah was excellent, all the performing bands lived up to the expectation except one..matisyahu, he totally was the buzzkill of the night. I find it unusual since he does normally perform well, regardless his lack of performance on this night made a lot of people leave early. Please never have him headline again, you was better off having dj play music from iPod instead. I will still go back to mayjah rayjah for years to come because of all the other bands.

    Not worth the money

    by MnM300 on 8/2/16Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

I've been to choke mayjah rayjahs, and this is the first one I have been to that cost $65 a ticket. I give it to rebel soljahs, cause if they wasn't there, this concert would of been junk. I would recommend to a friend if the tickets wasn't so expensive, cause we had fun the past couple years events. For some reason this one just felt kind of boring, especially at the end of the night. Probably will never do another mayjah rayjah again.

Great Concert -- don't bother with VIP.

by RastaDad on 7/28/15Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

Outstanding concert -- all the acts are real performers, not just playing a setlist. Also some of the best people watching ever. I would not recommend the VIP tickets -- last year the cost covered unlimited beer, poke, steak and hanging out with the entertainers. This year there were two bud lights, a cold bento box with hot dog, and a fence blocking the entertainers from the VIP area.

    Great Island Music Event

by RSENICA on 7/28/15Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

Would do it again.. had a blast... go early for parking close... opening bands starts at 5pm, no lines and no crowds getting in... Limited food selection, variety of drinks from water to alcohol

The line up was the best! Sammy J, Spawnbreezie, and of course Common Kings!

The concert was good and the groups did a great job performing I was just a little upset that there wasn't any tshirts available with the actual concert logo and the groups listed on it . The only shirts you could buy was local brands that only had Hawaii on it which were nice too but I wanted something that reminded me of the whole concert. Also the food choices were very little Only one booth with food for the whole concert? I remember when I went to a concert there before they have a few food trucks there which I thought was awesome and I thought that's how the venue is there but I guess not . Next time I will sit outside at the park ,bring my own food and drinks and enjoy the music :)
