Montoya will play Toni, a Latina lawyer whose ambition is matched by her beauty and whose presence will shake things up more than a few of the main characters. Kim, meanwhile, has been cast as Mia, Karen’s patient who leads the psychiatrist down a twisted path.
Production begins later this month.
Kim participated in last year’s talent showcase, which is dedicated to discovering a new crop of talent and voices. Recent successes from the Los Angeles and New York showcases have included Oscar-nominated 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o (2007) and 42′s Chadwick Boseman (2004).
Montoya, who played Detective Delores Padilla on General Hospital, is repped by House of Representatives and Shelter Management. Kim is repped by Pakula/King and Open Entertainment.
Mistresses returns in the summer on ABC.
