Happy Endings alum Zachary Knighton has booked two new gigs.
The actor, who played Dave for three seasons on the beloved ABC comedy, will star in Fox’s comedy series Weird Loners and has booked a major arc on NBC’s Parenthood, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Weird Loners is a six-episode comedy, which was picked up straight to series in January, that centers on four relationship-phobic people who are unexpectedly thrust into each other’s lives and form an unlikely bond in a Queens, New York, townhouse.

Knighton will play Stosh Lewandowski, a whip-smart and rakishly handsome sales rep with a cynical edge. The character is a habitual womanizer whose knee-jerk seductions always have him in hot water. Fired for sleeping with his boss’ fiancee, Stosh is essentially homeless when he finds a welcome place to say with his cousin, Eric, whom he hasn’t seen since they were kids.
Michael Weithorn (The Goldbergs, The King of Queens) will pen the script and executive produce the 20th Century Fox single-camera entry alongside Jake Kasdan.
Meanwhile, on NBC’s Jason Katims drama Parenthood, the in-demand actor will play Evan Knight, a hip teacher at the kids school in what is said to be a major arc.
Knighton and the rest of the Happy Endings cast are in high demand this pilot season, with his former co-stars — Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl), Adam Pally (The Mindy Project) and Elisha Cuthbert — also receiving multiple offers. For their part, Casey Wilson and Eliza Coupe already have projects lined up, as well. Wilson will star in Happy Endings creator David Caspe‘s NBC comedy Marry Me, while Coupe’s USA Network half-hour Benched has already been picked up to series.
Knighton, whose credits also include FlashForward and a recent episode of Wilfred, is repped by UTA, 3 Arts and attorney James Adams.
