Democratic strategist James Carville has landed at Fox News Channel as an on-air contributor little more than a year after ending his decade-long tenure at CNN. Carville, no stranger to FNC, most recently appeared on the network with host Megyn Kelly on Tuesday night.

“James’ successful and storied career in politics over several decades is an enormous asset to Fox News,” said executive vp programming Bill Shine. “We are privileged to have him lend his breadth of experience, wit and dynamic perspective on the network.”
Carville, famous for his work on the 1992 presidential campaign for Bill Clinton (depicted in Oscar-nominated doc The War Room), is also known for his on-air sparring with his wife, Republican political consultant Mary Matalin. Both Carville and Matalin departed CNN in January 2013 shortly after Jeff Zucker came on board as president. While at CNN, Carville served as a political contributor, co-hosting the first iteration of Crossfire from 2002 to 2005.
A political science professor at Tulane University, Carville is the author and co-author of several books, including January’s Love & War: Twenty Years, Three Presidents, Two Daughters and One Louisiana Home, which he wrote with Matalin.
