VH1 is continuing its push into scripted territory, ordering drama Hindsight to series.
From Jane by Design‘s Emily Fox, the 10-episode drama centers around Becca (Laura Ramsey) on the eve of her second wedding — in hindsight, she thinks about her life’s decisions and winds up going back to the morning of her first wedding in 1995.
Hindsight was previously developed at NBC and will be executive produced by Fox, Timberman/Beverly’s Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly and Maggie Malina. VH1 head of development Susan Levison will exec produce alongside Jill Holmes. Michael Trimm directed the pilot. The drama was Levison’s first scripted pilot pickup after she replaced Jeff Olde as exec vp original programming and production in August.
Hindsight, co-starring Sarah Goldberg and Craig Horner, marks VH1’s third scripted series. It joins cheerleading drama Hit the Floor, which was renewed for a second season in July; as well as dramedy Single Ladies, which is currently airing its third season. The network also recently added its second original TV movie with a follow-up to Drumline, co-starring and exec produced by Nick Cannon.
“Hindsight is a great mix of sweetness, drama, ’90s nostalgia and humor,” Levison said. “This series will resonate with our viewers because it offers the ultimate wish fulfillment — the chance to do things differently the second time around. We’re thrilled to continue our big push into scripted series development and are proud to partner with such talented auspices.”
Hindsight will premiere in early 2015 on VH1.
