What app? I just did a random test and no issue. I've also been updating apps without issue. Have you installed any mods such as something that changes DPI?
If you use Elixer2 there is a reboot menu in it which I use in the pulldown toggles. Also something called Quickboot in Play store works well. As you can tell I'm partial to things that don't screw with the framework.

I've used a lot of ROMs in the past with Froyo and Gingerbread, and then ICS when I got my Galaxy Nexus. However, I've felt like I wanted to stay more stock since getting the first ported Jelly Bean ROM since JB is so well done.
This ROM boots fast, works fast and I've had not problems with it at all yet. In short, IT ROCKS!
Thank you for the great work in bringing us the best stock JB experience to the LTE Galaxy Nexus. Lord knows it will be months before we ever get it from Verizon!

I'm at a loss on this one. The one time I had a phantom bootloop I used the superwipe flash but if you went back to factory image that should have addressed it.
I haven't looked into why AOSP wasn't restoring because I tend to use Titanium Backup, but I know others would like to see it work. I'll see what the options are and see what it would take to make it work again.

Man, in looking at the log it looks like something is preventing files from being written. That's just beyond weird. I guess by now you've probably formatted everything you could and tried updating CWM if you run it or TWRP. Also, if you're running TWRP try switching to CWM. I think you said you updated to the JB bootloader. I'm at a loss because I know others have this happen where nothing seems to work.
Personally, if it were me, I'd be relocking the Nexus back to factory and calling for a replacement. It could be hardware as weird as that sounds... it's happening so rarely and it just seems isolated to a handful of phones.
Crashes the email app once I flashed this. Is anyone else having issues?

Do you mean disable carrier check for tethering? I don't normally modify the framework but I'll see if I can put together something to flash.
I haven't been able to replicate a crash. Did you dirty flash?
I haven't flashed this yet, but I am wondering: has universal search been removed from this build?

This is the first time I've ever decompiled/recompiled an APK but here it is. I have no way to test this since I have tethering through Verizon anyway but I've made the change to the necessary XML file so it SHOULD work.
Also, adrynalyne, a HUGE contributor/developer to the XDA community raised some concerns about changes in the AOSP build that he noticed.

Hey I'm on jb and I just got it activeted with a new sim and I call Verizon and she tried pushing the activate threw but no luck she said I have to wait till west coast time till then which is 2:00 am on my side is this right? Cuz my 4g works and everything works good on this ROM. but no calls which says " welcome to Verizon wireless " what you guys think?

Can't add accounts to sync in settings
When I try to add an account in settings, it switches over to a screen with a list of the various accounts that I can add, but when I touch one, nothing happens other than the phone returns to the previous screen (main settings screen).
Also, still can't seem to expand txt notifications, such that I can reply to a txt in the notifications bar.

Tips:
- Clean flash strongly recommended with Android 4.2!
- Turn off Currents background sync! Major lag cause in 4.2.
- If you get a status 7 error flashing a ROM, try making sure SYSTEM is unmounted in 'mount/unmount partitions' menu in recovery.
