GALT —
At about 8:15 a northbound Union Pacific train struck a juvenile who tried to run across the tracks in front of the train.
It happened off of C Street in Galt.
The injured child was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. An investigation is underway.
Reports on social media are saying this young boy was playing chicken with the train and was with his little sister, when this tragedy happened.
