In the wake of three daredevils’ arrest for BASE jumping off the World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower, and a teenager sneaking up to the top of the skyscraper, two CNN producers went down to the site to report on the incidents, and got arrested for trespassing.
Producers Yon Pomrenze and Connor Fieldman Boals were arrested and charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental administration on Tuesday afternoon. The two repeatedly tried to go through gates and climb a fence at the lower Manhattan site. In one attempt to get through a manned gate, the producers told the stationed officer something to the effect that if a 16-year-old could get on the site, they should also be able to get in, the Port Authority Police Department said.

The PAPD confiscated two cameras from the producers.
A CNN spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that the two men were in the area to do a story about the recent security breaches and the notion that daredevils are being attracted to places like the World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower. They were not asked to sneak onto the site, the spokesperson adds.
