Ahead of its July debut, A+E’s upcoming lifestyle network FYI has picked up a pair of pilots.
The cable network — a joint venture of Disney-ABC Television Group and Hearst Corp. — has added hourlong unscripted entries You’re the One and Marry Me … Today.
STORY: A+E Rebrands Bio as Lifestyle Network FYI
You’re the One hails from Nerd TV and Jago Lee, John Farrar and Sarah Lazenby and follows men and women as they travel the globe in search of a lost love. Through social and mass media, communities around the world are mobilized to engage in the hunt, with twists and turn as new information is revealed and road blocks are eliminated, all leading up to the final heart-wrenching face-to-face meeting. Journalist-documentarian Cherry Healey hosts the pilot, with Gena McCarthy and Toby Faulkner overseeing for the network.
STORY: FYI Network Sets First Slate, Launch Date
Marry Me … Today is produced by 44 Blue Productions (Wahlburgers, Breaking Boston) and digital wedding leader The Knot. The project follows an ambitious groom-to-be as he surprises his girlfriend with a whirlwind day of their lives that includes both an engagement and marriage in one day. By secretly tapping into his partner’s digital “inspiration boards,” this resourceful boyfriend will use his girlfriend’s online wish list — from her dream engagement ring to the cake to her gown and the venue — to plan and execute her fantasy wedding. 44 Blue’s Stephanie Drachkovitch will exec produce alongside The Knot’s Carley Roney and Danielle von Zerneck. McCarthy and Lauren Wohl will oversee for FYI.
FYI was rebranded from Bio last year and will relaunch July 7 as an “inspiration engine” for a core audience of upscale women in their early 40s with programming devoted to fashion, food, style and design. FYI’s first slate includes series The Epic Meal Show, The Feed, World Food Championships, BORN to Style, Renovation Row and Tiny House Nation. For more on FYI’s development slate, click here.
