Jay Leno and Whoopi Goldberg have joined the voice cast of Disney’s The 7D, a modern-day take on the Seven Dwarfs.
Set in the world of Jollywood, The 7D — debuting Monday, July 7, at 10 a.m. on Disney XD — follows brave heroes Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Dopey, Grumpy and Doc as they work together to maintain order in the kingdom. Standing in their way are Grim and Hildy Gloom, a novice warlock and witch couple who plot to dethrone the queen and take over the town.
Leno, marking his latest post-Tonight Show gig, will recur as the voice of the Crystal Ball, while Goldberg will take on the Magic Mirror. They join a previously announced voice cast led by Kelly Osbourne. Other castmembers include Jess Harnell, Leigh-Allyn Baker, Bill Farmer, Maurice LaMarche, Kevin Michael Richardson, Dee Bradley Baker, Scott Menville, Stephen Stanton, Billy West and Paul Rugg.
Additionally in June, Disney will release The 7D Mine Train app, a second-screen adventure introducing users to the new world of the Seven Dwarfs.
Ahead of the official TV launch, the premiere episode of The 7D will be made available as a free preview on iTunes on Monday, June 23.
