When Infinite Crisis — Warner Interactive’s video game that features alternate versions of the DC Entertainment characters drawn from throughout a number of parallel Earths — officially launches (It is currently available in beta mode), it won’t be alone; DC has announced a tie-in comic series will launch digitally to accompany the game.
Written by comics veteran Dan Abnett (notably, one of the people behind the incarnation of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise translated into a movie this August) with art by a team of creators including Larry Stroman, Szymon Kudranski and Carl Potts, the new series will feature characters from multiple Earths teaming up to “head off a crisis that threatens to destroy all of their worlds.”

In addition to characters from the game, DC revealed that the series will feature “two characters … introduced just for the comic book: a re-imagined Harbinger and the terrifying, all-new Atomic Two-Face.”
The paired game and digital comic strategy isn’t a new thing for DC; when the game Injustice: Gods Among Us was released last year, it was accompanied by a digital series that went on to become one of the best-selling digital series of the year, with a second volume launched earlier this year. Additionally, the publisher has released multiple titles tying in with the successful Batman: Arkham series of games.
Infinite Crisis, the digital comic, will launch May 19.
