Grey’s Anatomy was the lone scripted series to improve on Thursday night. The ABC drama, hyping the upcoming exit of original castmember Sandra Oh and welcoming former star Isaiah Washington, was up three-tenths of a point to a 2.6 rating with adults 18-49. Black Box (1.3 adults) did not see any benefit from the boosted lead-in, dropping two-tenths of a point from last week’s premiere.

CBS may have seen dips, but it still easily topped the rest of the Big Four with an average 2.2 demo rating and 9.4 million viewers. After a steady Big Bang Theory (4.4 adults), The Millers (2.1 adults) and Two and a Half Men (2.1 adults) fell by a respective three- and four-tenths of a point. Bad Teacher (1.5 adults) dropped six-tenths of a point from its premiere ahead of an even Elementary (1.6 adults).
NBC launched the iHeartRadio Music Awards with a soft 1.7 rating in the key demo. The three-hour show also averaged 5.4 million viewers.
American Idol logged another low on Fox, down three-tenths of a point to an average 1.5 rating with adults 18-49 — shy of a steady lead-in from Hell’s Kitchen (1.6 adults). Surviving Jack (1.0 adults) also held steady.
The Vampire Diaries (0.7 adults) and Reign (0.5 adults), steady in the demo, were both up in viewers from the last week on The CW.
