CITRUS HEIGHTS–
A North Highlands man is under arrest for allegedly driving his car into two people Sunday night, Citrus Heights Police say.
Officers responded to a business near Auburn Boulevard and Cripple Creek Road just after 9 p.m. after getting a report of two people hit by a car.
Once at the scene, witnesses told police that the crash managed to send the people through the glass window of a business. One of the people hit had to be sent to the hospital. The suspect car had already left the scene.
Investigators later found that hit-and-run stemmed from an alleged argument the driver’s wife had with a co-worker. Apparently the wife called her husband, who then decided to confront the co-worker. Finding the co-worker at the business, the husband then rammed his car into the person – also hitting a man unrelated to the argument.
Police later caught up to and arrested the driver, identified as 47-year-old Anthony Robinson. He was arrested at this North Highlands home, the SUV used in the assault found nearby.
Robinson now faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon. He was also apparently driving with a suspended/revoked license.
