SACRAMENTO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT–

“I am very nervous” says Cassandra Sanchez.

The nerves of leaving family are nothing like the nerves of leaving for the Air Force,
for the first time.

“That’s our little girl, we’re very nervous to see her go!” says Sanchez’s father.

Seeing her go in to the military is hard enough, but seeing her go in to Hurricane Sandy is
even harder. “I’m leaving from Sacramento…to Denver…. to Florida” says  Sanchez.

Travel across the United States was tough Monday. Thousands of flights around the country
were delayed, only a few out of Sacramento, but Sac International isn’t a major airport hub.

San Francisco International had more than 150 flights delayed Monday due to Sandy, affecting
thousands of travelers. The delays had a ripple effect, starting in New York and making their way
west, slowly. Although almost everyone leaving out of Sacramento made it out on time Monday,
many of their travel plans were delayed when they’re connecting flights were delayed.

“My flight out of Sacramento is on time, I just hope my flight out of Denver will be on time.” Sanchez
told FOX40.
