16/10/2009 03:52:39Martin Stewart-WeeksGreat piece of work - short, sharp and compelling. If a government decided genuinely to enbrace this prescription, and line up the culture, practice and governance changes it implies (and requires), a quiet revolution would inevitably result. Congratulations to all concerned...Other

16/10/2009 09:58:05Antti Poikolawww.openfeedback.orgI couldn’t agree more with the first chapter!

“The needs of today’s society are too complex to be met by government alone…”

Governmental organizations should and probaply will transform from pure service providers towards providers and enablers. It is possible for the gov to provide the basic services and at the same time enable people to collaborate in the production of more specific services that meet the needs of smaller population and would not fit into the budget otherwise.

This trend is ok, but we have to take care that we don’t slide completely to DIY culture, there will be place for the basic services provided by the governments.

16/10/2009 11:08:22Valerie Frissenhttp://twitter.com/vfrissenI am an expert on ICT and social change, working both in R&D (TNO) and for the unibversity. My reserach group has carried out many projects on citizen participation empowered by ICTs and its impact on government and public services. This research shows the undeniable vitality and impact of this trend and the need for governments and public services to open up to, and collaborate and share responsibilities with citizens. I therefore fully support this declaratio.NL
