Change button text in Quiz question depending on attempt number?

Aug 05, 2012

Hi. We have quiz questions where we are giving feedback per answer choice (required by client) with 2 attempts. On the first attempt, we'd like the button on the feedback layer for wrong answers to say Try Again. Then on the second attempt, we'd like the button to say Continue.

Can Storyline do this? I've been experimenting with button states, variables, and triggers, but I don't seem to be able to get just the right combination.

Please advise ASAP.

Thank you,

Ellen

We figured it out, Dave, thanks to my teammate Venkata Sambasivarao! I had my triggers for the button state change in the wrong place...They should have been on the custom Submit button itself. We'd like to share a template for this with the community, but for some reason, the file does not want to attach here. Please advise. Thank you again!

Oh! Looks like it did indeed upload. Great!  So that template changes the button on the feedback pop-up  from Try Again to Continue for the second attempt at a question if you want a custom SUBMIT button and a chromeless player.

Hope this can help someone else.

Appreciate this great community!

Thanks to all,

Ellen
