Rick Ross is denying that it was "fear for his life" that stopped him from performing at Hot 107.5's Summer Jamz concert in Detroit over the weekend, where it was reported he skipped his performance after be accosted by "100 individuals." Rather, the Miami MC is blaming the no show on a locked gate. Rozay recently sat down with Felisha Monet of 99 Jamz in Miami and gave his account of the situation saying rumors of him leaving the event out of fear are greatly exaggerated. According to the MMG boss, it wasn't beef, but, a padlocked gate that turned him around. “Just to make it clear, I never even made it to the venue,” Ross told Monet, countering statements made by Hot's program director who told the crowd Ross was approached by 100 individuals, left and would not be performing. “Me and whoever this gentleman is, we never crossed paths. He never spoke with Rozay. And I expect him to clarify that, he said.”

Ross went on to detail how the radio station strangely prevented their headliner from performing because entry to the event was locked. “The caravan on the way to the venue, they get there [and] someone has locked the gates to the venue," he said. "Padlocked it, however they did it, the gate was locked. It was gentleman supposed to be here, this I didn’t see myself. It was supposed to be gentleman who were talking with the police and it was very peaceful, for my team [that made it there before me]. They didn’t even know it was a problem. That’s the promoter’s job, ya know. The promoter himself said let's get it fixed."

Instead of waiting to gain entry to perform for thousands of fans, Ross said he instead took the crew to gamble. "We said let’s go to the casino. Shout out to Greektown Casino, said Ross.”

As previously reported, Detroit rap OG Trick Trick has been speculated as the person who green-lighted the anti-Ross movement at the concert. Trick's latest track “No Fly Zone” featuring Royce Da 5’9″ calls for all out-of-towners to get a pass or rode on.
