SACRAMENTO –

Thousands of shoppers lined up in front of stores late Thursday night, all with an eye on the prize.

At Best Buy, the must-have item this year was a television. One shopper who had been in line since Sunday said he got about nine of them.

At Kohls, shoppers waited until the clock struck midnight to rush into the store.

A shopper there said they came for, “the toys and the clothes, we went to Target before this and didn’t want to go home. so we’ve been here since 10 and it’s freezing!”

The store manager at Kohls said “It’s our Superbowl so we look forward to this day. Everyone wants to work this day, we want to work when it’s the busiest because it’s fun.”

It will still be a while before the sales numbers are released, but the expected numbers are staggering. Best Buy alone expects over 20,000 transactions will take place Friday. Kohls is expecting countless more.
