SACRAMENTO –

Determination. That’s one thing Douglas Benedetti definitely has. After stumbling upon a husband frantically searching for his missing wedding ring that fell off up in the Sierra during a snow chain-up, Benedetti went back to take a better lit sweep of the area.

“He was using his cell phone to light up the snow for his search.”

He says after about an hour of searching in the snow, at about 1 a.m., he came across the 7.5 gram Platinum wedding band. Benedetti says he was in complete denial that he’d actually found the stranger’s missing wedding band.

“It was a really good feeling when I found it, but it would be a much better feeling if I could give it back.”

He says whoever the man is that lost the ring was heading toward Tahoe or Reno. He’s also keeping certain things secret about the mystery man so when he does come forward, Benedetti will be able to tell if it’s the true owner of the ring.
