GRASS VALLEY-

According to Thomas Browning of the North San Juan Fire District, 3 people were treated for injuries after an officer involved shooting occurred in Grass Valley.

The shooting happened around 3 p.m. on North San Juan Ridge off North Bloomfield Road near Edwards Corssing, a very rural area of Nevada County.

A civilian fired at officers who then returned fire. Of the 3 victims, 2 people had gunshot wounds. Both gunshot patients were transported to Sutter Roseville via helicopter.

One gunshot patient, a BLM officer, was shot in the shoulder and his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The other gunshot patient is the man who allegedly fired on police. He had 2 to 3 gunshot wounds and some serious bleeding. The 3rd victim, a CHP officer, took himself to the hospital with a deep cut to his leg.

North Bloomfield Road is now open, and this is all of the information available at this time.
