Punishment versus Funishment

Punishment - "the authoritative imposition of something negative or unpleasant on a person in response to behavior deemed unacceptable by an individual." (this can be physical or non-physical punishment)

Corporal Punishment - "a form of physical punishment that involves the deliberate infliction of pain as retribution for an offence, or for the purpose of disciplining or reforming a wrongdoer, or to deter attitudes or behaviour deemed unacceptable. The term usually refers to methodically striking the offender with the open hand or with an implement." (source: wikipedia)

Funishment - "a pleasurable way of being punished, usually in a sexual way." or "A punishment that ends up being more fun than the thing you're being punished for doing in the first place."  (source: urban dictionary)

Tip for newbies:
Learn the differences. If your Mistress is physically punishing you because you have done something wrong and have disappointed her, then your mindset should be on asking for forgiveness, and focusing on humbly accepting whatever punishment she feels like giving to you so that she feels you have made amends and she can emotionally move past this transgression. When you're being physically punished for something, it is not the time to try to egg her on with verbal playfulness or basically try to turn the punishment into a funishment. That defeats the purpose of her trying to correct you. She must see that you have taken the transgression seriously and are sorry for any bad behavior. Then you can both move forward together with a good fresh start.

Some quotes I've read in the past:
- “To me, a sensual, loving domme recognizes her lover's need to be guided and reprimanded. Some men have way too much freedom in this world and run wild within that and they need a strong woman to remind them of what is good behavior.”
- "With my hand, I correct you, with my correctness I adore you."
