FAIRFIELD–

Fire trucks, lights, fire — a few things that Fairfield Fire Station 40’s Anthony Bellamy expected his first day on the job — but, that’s not at all.

The new dad and firefighter says he got an emergency call Friday to Fairfield home where he delivered a seven pound, healthy baby girl, Samaiya Simmons.

“She [the mother] wasn’t planning on doing it there, but that’s just what was going to happen so we had no choice,” says Bellamy.

Mom barely had time to dial 911. But, it proved to be a good decision.

“I hope their baby grows up nice and healthy, I wish them well,” Bellamy told FOX40.

In the meantime, Bellamy was back to fighting fires Saturday. But, he says he’s ready for anything, anytime; it’s all part of his job.
