SACRAMENTO —

It’s the final Friday of the state fair. Tonight is also the fourth of five Sac Republic soccer games during the fair.

Take a look at the line of cars stuck in traffic just before the gates. Not where you want to be sitting on a Friday, when temperatures out here are inching toward 100 degrees.

But if you want to get into the fair, and make into a shady spot with an ice cold slushy, you’re going to have to wait it out for a few minutes.

We talked to Lara Popyack. She told FOX40 fair ticket sales are up about 10 percent this year, which could explain some of the crowding today.

“We do expect some large crowds, but again we’ve got plenty of parking spaces. We do ask people to be patient. Just like any big event, leave extra time, carpool take public transits. You can take Uber. There’s a lot of different ways you can get to the fair,” Popyack said.

Bonney field is already hosting a pregame at 5 p.m. Once more fans head this way for sac republic to play at 7p.m., this could get a lot trickier.
