Microsoft's #DroidRage Anti-Android Twitter Campaign Backfires

A Twitter campaign organized by Microsoft to get Android users to share their malware "horror story"  in exchange for a chance to win a new Windows Phone handset has backfired.

Here's the tweet that kicked it off, using the #DroidRage hashtag:

Interesting idea, but I'm sure that these are not the sorts of responses that Microsoft was hoping for:

While there's no doubt that malware targeting the Android platform exists, this seems like a somewhat desperate and ill-thought out campaign. I would have thought that Microsoft would have learned from its mistake when it tried the same thing last year, but alas not.
