Barkley on the Price is Right. (CBS)

SACRAMENTO-

Retired NBA star Charles Barkley went on the Price is Right to raise money for Sacramento’s Mustard Seed School.

“We brought all the kids into one room with a big TV and let them watch it and so we kind of followed along,” Angela Hassell, of the Mustard Seed School, told FOX40.

Barkley won $67,633 for the school, which opened in 1989. The episode aired Thursday, just one day after Barkley turned 50.

“It’s a significant portion of our budget. It’ll help us alleviate some of that worry, some of that tension of finding funding,” Hassell said. “We’re really excited.”

Hassell says the school is designed to be “an emergency school” for homeless families. It serves as a bridge between education gaps and time spent outside of the public school system.
