Rose Leslie, who plays the wild warrior Ygritte in Game of Thrones, is joining Vin Diesel in The Last Witch Hunter, Summit’s supernatural action project.
Breck Eisner is directing Witch Hunter, which sees a semi-immortal witch hunter (Diesel) wandering the streets of modern New York City forced to partner with his natural enemy, a female witch. The two must stop a villainous witch queen from obtaining a relic and unleashing plague upon humanity.
Leslie will play a witch and love interest opposite Diesel.
Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama (Gods of Egypt) recently did a polish on the script, which found life as a pitch by Cory Goodman. D.W. Harper and Dallas Buyers Club writer Melisa Wallack also worked on the script.

Mark Canton, Bernie Goldmann and Diesel are producing. Samantha Vincent of One Race and Adam Goldworm are also exec producing.
Erik Feig, Geoff Shaevitz and Matthew Janzen will oversee the project for Summit.
An August start date in Pittsburgh is being eyed.
Leslie is a Scottish actress who had a run on TV’s Downton Abbey before gaining attention for her work on HBO’s Thrones, which Thursday garnered 19 Emmy nominations. She just finished shooting the indie Sticky Notes, with Ray Liotta and Gina Rodriguez.
She is repped by UTA, Anonymous Content, and Hamilton Hodell in the UK.
