SACRAMENTO-

The Sacramento City Unified School District officials say they’re considering closing 11 elementary schools.

Bret Harte Elementary, C. P. Huntington Elementary, Fruit Ridge Elementary, James Marshall Elementary, Joseph Bonheim Elementary, C. B. Wire Elementary, Mark Hopkins Elementary, Tahoe Elementary, Washington Elementary, Susan B. Anthony Elementary and Maple Elementary all face closure.

District officials say the schools may be closed because of a drop in attendance and the district could save $10 million.

The district will discuss the closures at a meeting Thursday, but won’t make a final vote until Feb. 21.
